Anita's first full length play, Gandhi Marg, won 2nd place in Writers Digest Stage Play Competition, received a 3Arts Fellowship, and was a finalist for Chicago Dramatist's Many Voices Festival. Thirst, (co-written with M.E.H. Lewis), was a semi-finalist for the O'Neill, Honored finalist for N.Y. Women in Arts & Media Collaboration Award, and recently won 1st place for the UN Ecodrama Prize.
As an actress Anita has worked with many Chicago theaters including: Organic, Pegasus, Next, Lookingglass, Silk Road, Stage Left (Associate Artist), and Rasaka, (Founding Executive Dir). She will appear in Chicago Dramatist's production of The Mecca Tales in March and April 2015.
