Spiritually Rooted Vocalist and Writer

Binta (she/her) is an award-winning, versatile artist and leader with extensive non-profit and community-centered experience in arts programming and creative sector initiatives. As a first-generation, Senegalese and Gambian singer-songwriter, Binta captivates listeners through spiritually rooted music. She uses her ancestral language of Wolof and native English as a vessel to guide others on a journey of self-reflection and reawakening, serving as a reminder of the Divine. 

Binta has shared stages with Grammy-nominated artists Aja Monet, Vic Mensa, Maimouna Youssef (aka Mumu Fresh) and John Forté. As an artist-facilitator, she guides transformative workshops that explore wellness in all dimensions—mind, body, spirit, and emotion. Through dialogue and creative expression, participants learn to trust their inner wisdom and envision healing for their inner homes. For nearly a decade, Binta has brought a unique blend of community-rooted care, operational rigor and visionary thinking to various spaces. Her work has been featured in many local and national platforms. Binta has curated impactful artist residencies, gallery exhibitions, managed many large scale and diverse public projects, and facilitated transformative community workshops.
